To refugees registered with the UNHCR office in Syria and have pending applications to the U.S. resettlement program:
We
regret the delay, which is out of our hands, in processing your resettlement
case. We thank you for your patience during these difficult times,
and want to assure you that we have not stopped the U.S. resettlement program
in Syria.
Those who have completed processing continue to depart safely for the United States.
For
those individuals who have already had their required U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services (USCIS) in-person interviews, we are taking
the necessary steps to process your case to completion.
For those who have not yet had interviews, we urge you to remain patient.
Unfortunately,
due to the closure of the U.S. Embassy and on-going security concerns, USCIS
officials are not currently able to enter Syria to
conduct interviews. We continue to explore other options for processing
resettlement cases and will contact you directly when there is an opportunity
to proceed with your case.
